WATCH: Will Likely Blown Up on Punt Return

Will Likely is one of the most electric returners in the Big Ten, so teams are likely to kick away from him from time to time. It has also led to Likely taking some bigger chances.

That happened on Saturday against Penn State, as Likely picked up a bouncing ball on the run and was completely blasted by Penn State safety Nick Scott on the sidelines.

Maryland’s players didn’t care for the hit too much, but it is very clear that it was a perfectly legal hit. Likely was still in bounds and he was trying to advance a return he had just picked up.

Luckily, the scuffle on the sideline didn’t blow up in to anything bigger.

It also apparently woke up the sleeping Terps offense. Maryland went down the field and scored on the ensuing drive to make it a 17-14 Penn State lead with little time left on the clock in the second quarter.
